Concept Definition Map
Concept of definition maps, commonly called word maps, are graphic displays that show common elements of a dictionary definition. Why they are effective is because studies show that an effective way to understand the concept is to see the words combined with visual images.
There are 3 parts to the definition map
1. What is it? (what general category does it belong in)
2. What is it like? (what are the characteristics?)
3. What are some examples? (visuals or illustrations)
